William Penn High School – Senior Prom Letter

Dear Parent(s), Guardians and Seniors:

The Senior Prom is scheduled for Friday, May 15, 2026, at the Chase Center on the Riverfront, from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Dinner will be served starting at 7:00 pm.

This event is only open to students who have met all credit requirements to be considered in the 12th grade at William Penn High School and their approved guests.

The cost of the prom ticket this year will be $100 per ticket.

Tickets can be purchased with cash or money order ONLY (no personal checks).
There will be no online ticket sales.

Tickets are limited and will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis.

Ticket sales:

  • Begin: 4/13/26
  • End: 5/12/26
  • Time: 9:00 AM–12:00 PM and 2:00 PM–3:00 PM
  • Location: Main Office

All guest passes must be signed and approved before a guest ticket is purchased.


Important Notes

  • Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable
  • Tickets cannot be sold or given to someone else
  • IDs must be shown at entry
  • Students must enter by 8:00 pm (no entry after)
  • Administration may revoke tickets for unacceptable behavior

Guidelines & Expectations

  • Only eligible seniors and approved guests may attend
  • Students must follow all district and venue rules
  • Prom runs 6:00–10:00 pm, arrive before 8:00 pm
  • Dinner is buffet-style starting at 7:00 pm
  • Parents may not enter the venue for pictures
  • All school code of conduct rules apply (no drugs, alcohol, vaping, or weapons)
  • Dress code will be enforced

Dress Code (Formal Attire Required)

Acceptable:

  • Suit jacket, dress pants, button-down shirt, tie
  • Suit or tuxedo
  • Dress shoes

Not Allowed:

  • Revealing clothing (cleavage, midriff, thighs, etc.)
  • Shorts
  • T-shirts
  • Work boots
  • Dresses must meet coverage guidelines

Administration reserves the right to deny entry based on attire.


Prom Night Tips for Parents

  • Ensure students are dressed appropriately
  • Make sure your student has a clear plan for the evening
  • Students must arrive before 8:00 pm
  • Confirm transportation plans
  • Discuss rules and expectations
  • Encourage seatbelt use
  • Stay up until your child returns home

Guest Policy Highlights

  • One guest per student
  • Guest tickets are non-transferable
  • Guest must be a high school student or under 21
  • Guest form must be fully completed and approved
  • ID required

Guests must sign agreement to follow school rules and may be referred to law enforcement if necessary.


Early Dismissal Procedures

  • Students must attend school the day of prom
  • Early dismissal requests must be submitted by May 8th
  • No dismissals before 10:00 AM
  • Required info includes:
    • Student name, DOB, ID
    • Time and date of dismissal
    • Parent contact info
    • Pickup/transportation plan
    • Parent signature
